Blu-ray Player Prices Lowering Significantly In UK Market

The technology and gadget market is well known for its price movements. Upon release all products carry a high ticket, as the months go by the cost begins to come down. Blu-ray (also known as BD) has been around for a fair amount of years now, way back in 2003 was when Sony released the first blu-ray player to the market in Japan. But only now has the UK industry seen the prices come into line where most people can afford it.
Many other electrical goods have been fairly affordable for many years, take low cost laptops for example which seem to have been prevelant for years. However the blu-ray market was different and high prices have remained, until now.
The cost has dropped dramatically with the cheapest blu ray players costing around £45 brand new from popular sites such as Amazon. The actual cost of the discs has not came down quite in line, but nonetheless it does put the technology within reach for millions of brits.
There are a couple of reasons for the changes, it may be down to the economy, alternatively many think it is because of Sky+ and HDTV's, many people also already have DVD players, so the benefits of the technology don't really justify the cost.
Whether the price movements will lead to a surge in sales we will have to see.
