Which one is better, CSS or Table? It is such a dilemma to judge which on is better than another. To figure it out, let’s go further to what CSS and Table are about. Many web designers prefer table and non standard compliant code for the websites they are working on because they feel they already get used to it and to move to the others will be a really difficult because they must start everything all over again. It becomes the reason why most of web designers don’t feel the need to switch over to CSS based layout and standards compliant code.

Truly, learning how CSS works is quite easy. However, web designers discover that after applying the CSS based design there are many bugs infect the web and this is really annoying, thus they must spend more time to get rid of the bugs away from the website.

It is truly frustrating that they even don’t understand the bugs infection is occurred because of their lack knowledge of CSS or because some vague browser bug. And they find out ever since that table based design doesn’t bring such problem for them.

Table based design gives more practical works. The common things like form styling or page footers seem like getting more difficult with CSS. If you are a CSS professional everything would be very easy but if you are just an ordinary web designer that could be disaster. However, you can work it out by using CSS and learn more about it even though it will surely take more time. Aside from some obstacles you might get in using CSS based design, CSS is truly providing you many benefits. They can be saving a huge amount of bandwidth or fast loading page. On the other hand since most of CSS based websites are using many external files. The design then would be very complicated.

Furthermore, honestly whichever the design you use – either CSS or tables – contents and inbound links are significant things that decide high ranking for the websites. But, it is proved that table based design websites is much more discoverable in search engines rather than CSS based design websites. As additional information to these two designs, accessibility plays important role to win users heart. Some websites are sold because they find some problems with accessibility, but fortunately this kind of problem doesn’t appear in table based design website. (fallen)
