The fear of losing data mostly attacks users who have many important files which most of the time they often forget to make the back up until they realize right after their computer go off. Use one of partition in your hard drive as a respiratory of backup data. This method allows you to use automatic backup software so you can save the data with daily schedule. You can also copy it manually but ensure you do it regularly. However, the drawback of using this method is your data will be affected when your hard drive suffer crashes.

The second method is internal backup with multiple disks. This way you should set up another hard drive within the computer which used for backup. Because this backup hard drive is separate entity from your active hard drive, it will be safer whenever your active hard drive is corrupted. Thus, RAID 1 is useful technology to create mirror image of your active hard drive on the other one. It saves your backup data whenever the crashes happen but unfortunately it cannot secure your data form virus, spyware infection.

Furthermore, this will probably much safer than using internal hard drive. The method of external backup allows you to use USB, CD-(RW)s, DVD-R(W)s, and other high-capacity drives to backup the data. Another external backup is by using network services to backup the data of the same office, building, or workspace, it is called on site external back up. Once the network administrator has set it up for individual clients the backup will be proceeded automatically, the administrator can do manually either.

Besides the on site backup, you have other preference by using off site back up. Store your back up files on a web-based server. It will save your data even from the most cause like natural disaster. However, this method of backup data is much expensive, so perhaps you can select which files is worth enough to be kept in off site backup. (fallen)
