Nowadays, parents start to understand how important internet is for you their children. They decide to bring in the internet to the kids and guide them to how to use it. Although internet is trusted source for any valuable information, there is threat hidden which may endanger children. As good parents, it is impossible to restrict the children from using internet, so there are some things parents should do in order to introduce internet to children safely.

Initially, parents can build parents-children communication during the introduction phase of internet to their kids. A good communication should be conducted so children can receive the information properly. Here, parents can give the points about how to use internet wisely with purpose to give needed limitations for them.

Secondly, adults often feel unaware of how fast the time passes as they are doing internet, this happens to children as well. To give full supervision to children when they are online, do not place the computer in their bedrooms. You can place somewhere open where you can also have chats with as they are browsing.

For further supervision, you can create a list of websites they can access and schedule to set the exact times for them to do online. It is suggested that the hours limit children are allowed in front of monitor is two hours each day.

One of the hottest attractions in internet is the growing popular of social media. Ask your children whether they know of facebook, twitter, or youtube, and their answers may likely be yes. It is alright for them to join this social network, only parents should keep monitoring their activities.

Parents can help their grown up children to make the social media profile. Using nickname rather than real name is more preferable. But personal information or data shouldn’t be included. Meanwhile, the profile picture can make use of their favorite characters, toys, or other attractive images. Telling the children not to interact with foreign persons is necessary.

The last one is associated to the children’s habit. If your observation figures out that they often break the rules you have set before, you can take a firm step by forbidding them from using internet for a little while. If you let them breaking the law now and then, the situation may get even worse. So, give understanding to your children through a good and caring conversation until they understand.
