Affordability is hardly the hallmark of smartphones unless they’re on sale after a couple of years. But it’s great to see makers like HTC and Nokia starting to saturate the markets with entry level smartphones that budget-challenged markets can easily save up for. After Nokia’s announced N8 with an affordable price tag, HTC follows suit with a new Android HTC Wildfire that has many of the features of its upscale HTC Desire but pitched to the markets of an HTC Tattoo. Upscale Features at a Glance
- Its touchscreen monolithic body measures 106.8 x 60.4 x 12 mm and weighs just 118g to house a Qualcomm MSM7225 processor clocked at 528 MHz, 384 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM with microSD expandability up to 32 GB.
- Its display features a 3.2-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with QVGA resolution, 16 million colors, multitouch data entry and the usual proximity and gravity accelerometer sensors. You can find mobile phone with free gifts when you compare online.

- It’s a quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE on the 2G network and gets 3G coverage on the dual band UMTS/HSDPA but without the HSUPA speeds on the Desire. SatNav is supported with its built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS and digital compass with Google Maps preloaded.
- Imaging on the HTC Wildfire comes with a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, geo tagging from its GPS receiver, face detection and basic video recording.
- Multimedia gets the same stereo Fm receiver with RDS and the media players for popular audio and video files, a 3.5mm headphone hack and A2DP support for wireless stereo earphones.
- Software-wise, the HTC Wildfire runs the same Android 2.1 Éclair with HTC Sense UI and comes preloaded with Facebook and Twitter apps for SNS integration as well as the full communications suite consisting of Push Email, Gmail, IM with Google Talk and media sharing integration with Picasa, Flickr and YouTube.
